This Privacy Policy describes how muude (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use our service.

Information we collect

We may collect:

Account information: If you create an account, we store your email address and any display name or optional profile details you provide.
Mood and ripple data: The mood you select, optional notes, and the approximate city or location (if you choose to share it) when you create a “ripple.”
Location data: With your consent, we may use your device’s location to determine your city so we can show you your city’s emotional weather. You can decline and use the app without sharing location.
Technical data: Such as how you use the app (e.g. pages visited) to improve the service. We do not sell this data.

How we use your information

We use the information to:

Provide and improve the muude experience (e.g. city mood, your history, and dashboard).
Aggregate anonymous mood data to show city-level emotional weather.
Communicate with you about your account (e.g. password reset) if you have signed up.
Comply with applicable law and protect our users and service.

Sharing and disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only:

With service providers that help us run the app (e.g. hosting, authentication), under strict confidentiality.
When required by law or to protect rights and safety.

Aggregated, anonymized mood data (e.g. “city X feels calm”) may be shown to other users and does not identify you.

Data retention and your choices

We retain your account and ripple data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; we will remove your account and associated data in line with our systems and legal obligations.

You can choose not to share location, use the app anonymously where offered, and limit what you write in notes.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data (e.g. encryption, access controls). No system is completely secure; we encourage strong passwords and careful use of your account.

Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top will change when we do. Continued use of muude after changes means you accept the updated policy.
